This organization has a 5 member
(non-paid) board of directors. It is free standing/separate from the
Pharmacy State Board. It is not free standing from the Georgia Pharmacists
Association. The GPhA offers
staff support, meeting space, and help in
conference planning. PharmAssist is part of the Georgia Pharmacy
Foundation (a non-profit entity). It does utilize substance abuse
professionals with credentials.
What about funding? The
organization does not charge client fees. It does not receive funding
through license renewal fees. Other sources of funding: Georgia Pharmacy
Foundation, Fun Run, and Conference Surplus.
Active clients include: Pharmacists,
Student Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians

Note: The Georgia Pharmacy Foundation & PharmAssist have been hosting the
Southeastern PRN Conference
(as of 2008) for 13 years, and are scheduled to do so through 2009. It is
hosted at Simpsonwood Conference
Center just north of Atlanta. Normally it is held the second weekend in
